Introducing our Horses
Cola
Cola is a 17 year old Morgan X Quarter Horse Mare. I began my journey with Cola when I still lived in Saskatchewan in 2011 when she was only 2 years old. Cola was my main mode of transportation when I was a young girl, we rounded up cows together, rode miles and miles to friends houses and continued to ride all day, and practiced Barrel racing, pole bending, and horse games together in Gymkhana!
Cola took a brief hiatus from me in 2016 and was owned by a family who used her for Show Jumping. Lucky for me I was able to get her back and bring her to a new home in Ontario in 2020.
Cola is my best friend. She is spicy, avoidant and is sick of going riding but once she trusts you she'll stand over you and protect you with her life! I trust Cola more than anyone.
Molly
When I first met my partner in 2020, he showed great curiosity in my farming background; particularly the horses.
He expressed an interest in me getting back into them and growing a connection with them himself, as he had some experience with them from his Childhood.
So on Kijiji he showed me many horses, but this one.. originally named "Dolly" stood out.
"Project Mare" "please contact" "Located in Ottawa, Originally from Sudbury"
We bought her, sight unseen and picked her up alongside another mare we'll talk about later.
Molly suited her better. She was a project. A stubborn girl who was never meant to show jump and likely was a Buggy horse at one point in her life. She's a bit of a hard keeper, requires some patience and maintenance! Molly has the most secure attachment. She'll always be first to greet you, to be pet, brushed, given snacks. Once a project now just living out her days being absolutely gorgeous and giant!
We don't know Molly's breed or age but we have guessed a Percheron X Paint who is around 20yrs old! Without Molly, I don't think I would have brought Cola out to Ontario, nor do I think we would be into horses today! She (re)started it all.
Izzy
Izzy is a 3yr old Friesan X Standardbred Stud. He is the first horse we've ever raised from birth. He was born in Iron Bridge, ON at my families farm. When we first picked up Molly in Ottawa, we looped up to Earlton, ON to pick up another mare sight unseen. Delilah, also known as Passions Delight. A purebred standardbred Mare who spent her young life as a chariot racer, turned brood mare, turned buggy horse, ending up being purchased at an auction, then ended up with us. Delilah lived many lives.
When we first got her, she was not in good shape, completely emaciated; we didn't think she was going to make it. We ended up treating her for a disease called EPM. After treatment, she made a full recovery, a few years later she was bred to a Fresian Stud and Izzy was born.
Today, Delilah is happy living her best life in Iron Bridge, and we are blessed to have Izzy who is the sweetest, slightly anxious, cutie patootie who will hopefully give us some more baby horses in the next few years!
Each one of our horses bring unique energy and attributes that make them phenomenal co-facilitators in healing! You may connect with just one or maybe all three! That's up to you and them.
Above all else we honour their time, energy and boundaries.
Ethical Promise
The health and well-being of both clients and horses are equally as important. Sessions will be completely shaped around needs of both parties. We recognize the horses as being equal partners in the path to healing.
